Educational Programs
All AES Brasil co-workers are called to periodically attend training on ethics and compliance, whose theme varies according to each one’s responsibility. The main objectives are to educate the AES people on policies and specific procedures established in AES Ethics and Compliance Program and in the Code of Conduct and to equip all people at AES – with the means – to make good decisions when faced with ethic dilemmas or challenging business situations.
AES Ethics and Compliance Department administers a 24 hour Helpline confidential line, for AES co-workers and stakeholders to ask questions, seek guidance or report suspected violations or law infringements, to AES Ethics and Compliance Program or to its Code of Conduct. The denunciations are assessed by the Ethics Committee.
Ethics Committee
Any questionings or claims made to AES Helpline are treated seriously and looked into. The Ethics and Compliance Department is responsible for registering all cases and investigations, and for the final recommendation that is made in a joint commission fashion, through a multidisciplinary Ethics Committee that meets on a regular basis.
Compliance Contractual Review Process
AES Brasil is committed to conducting ethical businesses with its business partners. As part of the Ethics and Compliance Program, prior to entering any commercial transaction, Compliance due diligences are carried out on proposed commercial partners, with the inclusion of appropriate contractual compliance language in the contracts. The analyses of the business partners’ reputation aim to ensure the highest ethical standard in the commercial relations and in the combat against corruption.
Internal and Independent Audits
Regularly ethics and compliance audits are carried out as well as in AES Brasil businesses, relative to compliance with the Ethics and Compliance Program.
