Energy Generation
 

In the energy segment, AES Brasil owns, in the State of São Paulo, AES Tietê that relies on a generation park comprised of ten hydropower plants, in the Central and Northwest regions of the State of São Paulo, and seven small hydropower plants (PCHs) in the State of Minas Gerais with 2.651 MW installed capacity – which accounts for 21% of the energy generated in the territory of SP and for 2.6% of the domestic market.

In the State of Rio Grande do Sul, AES Brasil controls AES Uruguaiana. First thermal plant to operate on natural gas in Brazil; the company started up in 2000 in the city of Uruguaiana, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The plant has 639 MW installed capacity.
