In the energy sector, AES Brasil has two distributors: AES Eletropaulo and AES Sul. AES Eletropaulo distributes electric power to 5,8 million customers in 24 municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo – including the Capital. There are 16,3 million people in a 4.526 km² area that houses the most important socioeconomic region in the Country. AES Eletropaulo that posted net revenue of R$ 7,5 billion in 2008, is the largest distributor in sales and consumption in Latin America.

AES Sul area of operation involves 118 municipalities in the State of Rio Grande Sul, on the border with Argentina and Uruguay and in the Valleys, Central and Metropolitan regions. There are 1,1 million customers – 3,4 million people – in the Center-West part of the State, totaling 99,5 thousand kilometers of concession area.
